Destiny 2, one of the first games to be completely free-to-play in the stadium, is gaining full cross-play support during this fall. Since its launch, Destiny 2 has been one of the major games in Stadia, included for a full year with Stadia Pro, and later became the first free-to-play game of the streaming service.
Destiny 2 has a unique advantage, it is impossible to deceive the cheat stadium, but unfortunately, it was discarded due to a lack of players in the less popular match-making playlist.
While a few thousand players could argue that it is more than enough to sustain society, unfortunately, this is not true for all sports. For example, Destiny 2 has five different “playlists” for its PVP mode, Crucible, each using a separate match-making pool. Lack of players leads to more matches, prompting players to play more populous playlists, especially in controls.

Earlier, Bungie mentioned that they wanted to do a full cross-play pass for Destiny 2, but that cross-generic play – for example, putting PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players together – came first. Is required. Now that the feature is gone, developers are shifting their focus to the future.
Bungie has put together an extensive “dev update” in which it is officially announced that there will be a full cross-play for Destiny 2 in 2021. Enabled with full cross-play, Destiny 2 players on Stadia, PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
To play together helps to increase the player base and fill the less popular mode. At the moment, he does not share specifics about how cross-play works, such as how to enter the lobby with a friend from another platform.
With the announcement of Cross-Play, Bongi has made many other improvements awaiting for Destiny 2, playing on all platforms coming up over the next two seasons. The most exciting of these is the complete “transmogrification” system, which is the best statistic to ensure that your guardian’s presence is not completely tied to the pieces of armor.
- Transmog will be coming with Season 14. More details to come. (See work-in-progress screen captures, below. Not final, may change!)
- DDOS protection for Destiny 2 players on all consoles will be coming in Season 13.
- The Vault of Glass raid returns.
- Crossplay is coming in 2021.
- Two strikes (Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and Devil’s Lair) are coming to Destiny 2 in Season 13.
- Legendary and Master Lost Sector rotation will be expanded to include the Lost Sectors on the Moon in Season 13, and there will be new three new pieces of Exotic armor to chase.
