Revenue from digital content will grow rapidly in the coming years, according to a new study from Juniper Research. It is expected to reach $ 211 billion this year and surpass $ 432 billion in 2016.
These figures are in line with 105% growth over the next five years. Analysts clarify that they took into account different revenue models: pay per download, pay for in-app content, subscriptions, and ad revenue.

The report identifies two key channels that are expected to provide new revenue opportunities over the next five years. These are “immersive” headsets and smart speakers.
Digital content revenues from these device categories are projected to grow from $ 2.4 billion in 2021 to $ 8.1 billion by 2026. In other words, these categories are expected to grow by 275%, which is more than the market as a whole.
