Europe requires new phones to feature USB-C Type charging port by the end of 2024

Once you are deficiently stuck over a point when you forgot your charger, and there is no other way to charge it, you undoubtedly detest the circumstance. Well, the issue will soon be solved as phones and other smart devices use USB C-type charging ports by the end of 2024.

As per the report, all smart devices including phones, tablets, and cameras sold in the EU by the end of 2024 must include a USB Type-C charging port. Additionally, the Laptop devices will also be under commencing from Spring 2026.

Nevertheless, the plenary approved this rule with 602 votes, 13 votes against it, and 8 abstentions. Which is a part of a larger EU initiative to minimize e-waste and enable consumers to make more environmentally friendly decisions.

Users will be able to charge their smartphones at the same speed with any suitable charger because all devices that enable fast charging will now have the same charging speed.

Additionally, after the commencement of this rule the users will be able to utilize a single charger for a variety of small and medium-sized portable electronic gadgets, consumers won’t need to buy a new charger every time they buy a new item.

However, the parliamentary document lists some of the products that will require a USB Type-C port, that can be recharged through a wired cable and offer up to 100 Watts of electricity.
