Facebook’s Messenger and Instagram direct to get integrated platform
Facebook had been working since one month on merging its Messenger service with Instagram direct. The alteration has been finally released and the roll out for all the users will begin soon.
This alteration allows Instagram users to chat with Facebook users and vice versa using same platform. There are some changes in the app after the alteration, the paper airplane icon in the top right corner is now replaced by Facebook’s messenger logo. There are more features included such as colorful chats, more emoji reactions, and swipe to reply.
Facebook decided to merge its Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram chat platform as part of its long term plan. Facebook thinks that merging all its platform will help its billions of users to keep involved in Facebook ecosystem. The company is also looking to wash off its rivals such as Apple’s iMessage.
Facebook wants all of its platforms to integrate end-to-end encryption like Whatsapp to provide its users a more improved privacy. Facebook is also been asking Apple to allow its messenger app as default app.
