Google continues to add new enhancements to the Find My Device network and in the latest development, the company is working on new location-based privacy settings. Consequently, one would be able to find your lost phone using some advanced preferences.
So far, we heard of the Android unwanted tracker alert capability that will benefit the Find My Device network in hunting for lost items. As of now, the US tech giant is readying significant privacy settings that will make things better in this matter.
Accordingly, Google is bringing location-based privacy settings for the Find My Device network that will let you pick the option to locate lost offline devices. Users will find a new ‘Off’ toggle in which a lost phone cannot be detected if it doesn’t have internet access.

Without Network
Your device won’t participate in the network. You can still locate your offline devices using their stored recent locations when they were online.

With the network in high-traffic areas only
Locate using stored recent locations or the network in areas like airports or busy footpaths. To help find a lost item, location info from your device is used only if others in the network also detect the item.

With the network in all areas
Locate using stored recent locations or the network even in low-traffic areas. To help find a lost item, location info from just your device may be used if it’s the only one in the network to detect the item.
