On May 20, a patent licensing company K. Mirza LLC filed files lawsuit against Samsung’s basic battery tech, which may have far-reaching results for other Android OEMs. The reason is that Samsung is facing problems due to a patent-related issue. Also, this issue covers an Android OS technology that is competent in predicting how long will battery can stay last before the smartphone turns off.

The company claims that the pre-installed Android-based feature was actually progressed by a Dutch research institute called Nederlandse Organisation Voor Togepast Natuurwetenschappelijik Onderzoe (TNO). It covers what the legal complaint describes as an on the fly prediction of the remaining battery life of a mobile device.
The system analyses the usage of patterns and then notifies the user how long their device can stay based on the current battery status. According to K.Mirza -Samsung mobile devices using younger versions of the AndroidOS infringes the German designation of this patent.
The patent calculated a battery-powered super device used for a wide range of activities where the energy consumption linked with activities is being recorded to analyze the power consumption rate. The energy intake rate is compared against the available battery to estimate how long any device can last based on the smartphone activity status.
Interestingly, the primary data of the patent is listed as 2007, and it was officially granted in 2013 and is anticipated to come to end in 2028.
