According to data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association, the foundry capacity of global chip foundries for 8-inch wafers will increase by an average of 17% annually from 2020 to 2024, and the monthly production capacity will reach 6.6 million wafers in 2024.
The monthly production capacity of chip foundries for 8-inch wafers will reach 6.6 million wafers in 2024, which means that in 5 years, monthly production capacity will increase by 950,000 wafers.
Data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association also shows that more than 50% of the world’s 8-inch wafers this year will come from chip foundries.
