Ghostrunner 2 is under development for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC

Just months after the first game began, publisher 505 Games announced that GhostRunner 2 was officially in the works. The sequel does not yet have a release window, but it looks like a real-blue Next-Gen exclusive, with the publisher confirming that it will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

“We are particularly excited about the future release of Ghostrunner 2,” reads a statement shared to the official Ghostrunners Twitter account (we’ve lightly edited the statement for brevity).

“Together with One More Level, we have created a thrilling and engaging video game. This new collaboration deepens 505 Games’ presence within the Polish video game market, a reality now among the firsts in Europe for the development of video games, new projects, and talents.”

We loved the original GhostRunner, calling it “lovely, punishable” and ultimately “worth your time”. But the GhostRunner sequel is backed by double investment from 505 games, including the PC Port of Control and Death Stranding. All I can say is that if you’ve enjoyed GhostRunner before, we’re excited about the sequel.

Considering the financial success of the first game, which has sold 600,000 copies since its launch, 505 Ghostner claims that his portfolio is “a potential brand, capable of providing long-term support”, suggesting that more sequences are likely to follow.

Finally, it has been announced that GhostRunner will be coming to the Next-Gen console before the end of 2021. The publisher said he would find out more about the “soon” sequel. Everything else on the horizon, here are all the PS5 games we couldn’t wait to play and the upcoming Xbox Series X games.
