Google Account switcher gets Material You design on Android
Material You tweaks are now widely rolling out and as for now, the Google Account switcher is getting the Material You design on Android.
Google Account switcher is one of the most important UI components of the first-party Google apps.
Account switcher allows you to open Google apps directly under a specific account. It is just a shortcut that saves you time from having to open and select a specific account. The extension is especially for people who use multiple Google accounts in their browsers.
As a part of Material You design, the Google Account switcher picks up the new UI look. Now you will see the redesigned buttons.
While tapping on the Profile icon, you will notice a rectangular sheet that embeds the profile settings has now become more attractive and in line with Material You with more rounded corners. The changes are first spotted in the Messages app.
Additionally, the ‘Manage your Google Account’ tab is now placed within a rectangular-shaped box and has rounded corners. Previously, it was placed in a pill-shaped container.
You can see the changes in the below screenshot.
However the changes are not seen in other settings like logged-in accounts or signing out and app-specific options like privacy, settings, and help/feedback, appear at the bottom.
Expectedly, Google will soon roll out the Material You tweaks to all its apps.
