Google Calendar gets a major upgrade for task management
Organize Your To-Do List Right Within Calendar
Have trouble juggling your schedule and to-do list on your Android phone? Google is making things easier with a major update to Google Calendar. Soon, you’ll be able to manage all your tasks directly within the Calendar app.
See All Your Tasks in One Place
No more switching between apps! The new update brings a full-screen view of your Google Tasks within Calendar. This means you can see all your tasks, even those without due dates, and easily organize them across different lists.
A Familiar Experience
The design of the Tasks integration will feel familiar if you already use the standalone Google Tasks app. You’ll find a dedicated Tasks icon in the top bar, similar to the standalone app’s interface.
Stay on Top of Your Day
This update allows you to manage both your schedule and to-dos seamlessly. You can see upcoming events alongside your tasks, giving you a complete picture of your day. No more forgetting an important task in the rush to attend a meeting!
No Need to Ditch the Standalone App (Yet)
Although you can now manage most tasks within Calendar, the dedicated Google Tasks app isn’t going anywhere (at least for now). The standalone app might still be useful if you need a task widget on your phone’s home screen.
The Update is Coming Soon
The new Google Tasks integration is rolling out over the coming weeks for Android devices only. There’s no word on iOS support yet, but hopefully, iPhone users won’t have to wait too long for a similar upgrade.
