Google has postponed the launch of Bard AI in the EU. And a major reason behind this delay is the privacy concerns among residents. As per the details, the local regulations are constantly preventing the US tech maker to enter the boundaries with this AI tool.
Consequently, Google Bard is dragging everyone’s attention over its amazing capabilities these days, but it looks like the EU is not a big fan of this AI tool. As a result of which, the lawsuits have restricted the entrance of this outstanding element.
According to the information, the Pixel developer has planned to launch the Google Bard AI tool in the EU this week. However, the Deputy Commissioner of the Irish Data Protection Commission – Graham Doyle confirmed that the debut will not happen this week.
Sharing some details on the halt, the Commissioner said that Google has not provided satisfactory documentation for this new tool. For instance – a data protection impact assessment or a brief outline on how the privacy of EU users will remain in safe hands.
Further, the DPC is investigating more on Bard’s policies. In response, a Google spokesperson stated that Bard will only launch in the region after having a full-proof discussion with lawmakers, regulators, and other experts.
Although the EU doesn’t seem to be much interested in this matter and is persistently pondering new regulations for the AI tool check. Not only Bard but these rules have been applied to other AI chatbots like Open AI ChatGPT as well.
