Google has officially launched the first Android 11 Developer Preview. Android 11 brings updated connectivity APIs to take advantage of improved 5G speeds, support for hole-punch and waterfall displays, deeper conversational experiences and more.
The first Android 11 Developer Preview is now available to download for the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 4 series.
The first Android 11 Developer Preview contains a feature that targets developers. Future Developer previews will see more functionality. The public launch is slated for Q3 2020. Google says it will soon invite consumers to try out Android Beta 1.
If you want to download, the Android 11 Developer Preview system images are available for the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4 XL, as well as in the Android Emulator. It will come with the March 2020 security patch. The Google Play services version is 20.04.14.
First Developer Preview (RPP1.200123.016) is officially “for developers only and not intended for daily or consumer use.” It’s available via manual download and flashing, with the Android Beta coming later (thanks to 9to5google).
