Just last Friday, Google was fined 13.38 billion Indian rupees by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for its Android-related monopoly.

Moreover, the data from research firm Counterpoint Research shows that 97% of the 600 million smartphones in India are powered by Google’s Android operating system.

Google responded to an antitrust fine imposed by the Indian government last week, saying the move was a major blow to Indian consumers and businesses, and has yet to respond to a second fine.
