Google keeping Android Beta Program open even after Android 11 launch

For a long time, Google closes beta testing just after its latest Android release. Starting this year, Google has planned to change things up a bit and decided to keep the Android 11 beta program open for the future “pre-releases” of its software updates.

Currently, Google has not closed the r/android_beta community or the sign-up portal. Therefore, the company will continue to “post updates and information about future opportunities within the Android Beta Program.” So that users can remain intact to the beta activities and provide more useful feedback to improve the Android.

Aside from the community and the portal, Google will soon conclude the Android beta issue tracker and Beta feedback app. Users will have an option to file a new issue against Android 11 in the AOSP issue tracker or share thoughts via Pixel Reddit Community or official support channels.

Over the next few months, if you choose to keep your device enrolled in the Beta program, you will automatically get an OTA update to any future pre-release versions of Android 11 as they become available.

Since major updates rolls out once in a year, these pre-release software updates most likely to include security patches and a few new features. There could be a different reason for Google to keep Android 11 open and it may clarify things officially in the future.
