Google Nearby Share feature is hearsay to become more impressive by letting you send files to the devices even when the screens are off. Though the US tech giant has not officially announced this new change yet. But a few users noticed it on their smartphones.

So far, when we used to transmit files to a device with Nearby Share, it required unlocking. At that time, the aim behind this process was to easily recognize who is the sender and whether the files are being received or not. Moreover, it also helped with the battery life extension.

Although the company is adding more efficiency to this sharing tweak. According to a Twitter user, Google Nearby Share now lets you send files to other devices even when they are locked and their screens are off. This will not only save you from throttling scans or services but will further maximize the battery life.

Meanwhile, AndroidAuthority also tested this feature with their Pixel 7 Pro which immediately appeared in the list of devices after enabling the Nearby Share on the Pixel 6 Pro. However, it was not the case with Zenfone 9, which only showed up on the list after turning the screen on and unlocking it.
