Google Photos and Drive get a fresh look
Google Photos Web Gets a New Look
Google Photos on the web has received a significant redesign, focusing on a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. The new interface features a redesigned side panel with a prominent “Collections” section, making it easier to access your photos and videos.
The “Updates” section now provides a centralized view of recent activity, including shared albums, memories, and storage updates. This consolidated approach helps you stay informed about what’s happening in your Google Photos account.
Google Drive File Picker Gets a Mobile Makeover
Google Drive’s file picker on Android has also received a makeover, aligning with the design language of the mobile app. The new design features a carousel view of different storage locations, including “My Drive,” “Computers,” “Shared with Me,” “Starred,” and “Recent.” This makes it easier to navigate between different storage options and quickly access your files.
By streamlining the file picker, Google aims to make it faster and more convenient to find and select files from Google Drive. This update will be rolling out to Gmail, Chat, and other Workspace apps on Android devices.
These updates from Google reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to improving user experience and keeping its apps up-to-date with the latest design trends.
