Google Play Store showing ads in search alongside other visual tweaks
Google is preparing the Play Store app to show ads in the search bar. While ads have existed in the application for a long time, they will now appear in the search space alongside other visual tweaks and past searches.
The Android maker keeps renovating its apps and services for consumers’ welfare. A good example can be seen in the Messages, Phones, and Contacts that are constantly adopting new changes and features to enhance the overall user experience.
Following the rituals, the company is now bringing ads ability in the search bar of Google Play Store. Perhaps, this addition will be known as ‘limited events and sponsored offers’. When tapping on the Play search at the top, you may see up to three limited events and sponsored suggestions along with past search queries.
For your information, Limited-time events are not a new thing to the Play Store. They already resided in the app and often showed up as cards in the Play Store’s main feeds. As of now, they will ramp up the search floor to promote streaming apps particularly related to users’ interests.
Another option is ‘sponsored suggestions’ which is again labeled as an ‘Ad’ option. Notably, both types of ads disappear once you begin typing on the search.
In addition to these points, the search history list highlights terms of company priorities. Whereas, you might also discover more prominent icons next to previous queries for easy and convenient sorting.
A main motive of Google to move ads in Play Store search could be to generate more revenue from the app. In addition to the in-app purchase and subscriptions, the company has now found a pristine way to attract income.
