According to Android Police, Google is rolling with a new side-scrolling clipboard with a new update on the Gboard. This is different from previous iterations that typically suggest pasting a recently copied clipboard item into a text field. With this new implementation, the keyed text will be listed in the top bar of the keyboard, used for clipboard instructions, and you will be able to swipe horizontally through the items.
The new implementation skips the extra step of opening the clipboard menu, making it easier for users to access key picked text and links. However, it does not replace the clipboard menu altogether, allowing users to easily manage items queued in their queue.
The new clipboard feature is currently being rolled out to users on the best Android phones, though it doesn’t seem to be widely available yet. If you have yet to receive a new clipboard feature, make sure you’re on the latest version of Gboard to make sure you’ll get it as soon as possible.
