How to rollback from One UI 2.0 Beta (Android 10) to One UI 1.1 (Android 9)

Samsung has started to roll out its One UI 2.0 Beta (Android 10) for flagship Galaxy smartphones but there are some issues that may force beta testers to leave the beta program and want to roll back to the version of One UI 1.1.

So, how to do it? Let’s check it out.

Requirements: 

  1. USB Cable.
  2. PC or Mac with a stable internet connection. 
  3. Samsung Smart Switch application.

Before you begin:

  1. Do not use a rooted device
  2. Use an official Samsung USB cable.
  3. Battery must be fully charged.
  4. Back up your data.

During the Update:

  1. Do not open any menus by pressing any buttons
  2. Do not connect other smartphone or external media to the PC or Mac.
  3. Do not use the Call function.
  4. Strictly – Do not disconnect the cable until the update process is completed.

 

How to rollback from Samsung’s One UI 2.0 Beta to stable One UI 1.1 (Android 9 Pie).

First, you need to Withdraw or deregister from the One UI 2.0 Beta program.

  1. Open Samsung Members app > Settings > One UI Beta Program > scroll down to select “Withdraw” then confirm the withdrawal.

 

Now, move to the rollback instructions.

1. On your PC or MAC, download and install Samsung Smart Switch application from here.

2. Start the Smart Switch app and connect your smartphone using a supported USB cable.

3. Tap on “Downgrade“, follow the instructions and confirm downgrade.

5. Now, wait until the downloading finishes (It will take time depending on the speed of your internet connection).

6. After the successful installation, your smartphone will restart and you can disconnect your smartphone. (The first boot may take some time).

7. Congratulations, you have successfully rolled back to One UI 1.1 (Android 9).

Tip: Connect your smartphone to the WiFi network to complete the installation of required apps or to update existing ones.
