Huawei and GAC Aian, who were jointly working on the AH8 model project have now received approval from the board at the 67th meeting. It was officially announced by the Guangzhou Automobile Group.
According to the agreement, both of these firms will build a new generation of smart car digital platforms based on GAC’s GEP 3.0 chassis platform. The total investment by both parties in the project is 788 million yuan. The mass production of the vehicle is planned for the end of 2023.

Huawei will contribute through its CAA (Computing and Communication Architecture), equipped with full-stack smart car solutions, jointly define and develop together, and create a future-oriented A series of smart cars.
Furthermore, GAC has also announced its June production and sales report and the data shows that the automobile production in June was 163,583 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25.61%.
After looking at the sales report, GAC Toyota’s production and sales are the highest among all the subunits of the group followed by GAC Honda. The previous report also suggests that Huawei along with GAC are also developing the level 4 autonomous smart vehicle tech with Didi technology.
