Huawei started HarmonyOS 2 testing for phones running EMUI 10.1 in China
Huawei has been doing quite an impressive job with the new HarmonyOS 2.0 and it announced to upgrade even 5-year-old devices to this new version. At first, the company started testing new HM OS for the devices running EMUI 11. And as of now, most of the EMUI 11 devices got covered in the beta testing program.
The initial testing of the HarmonyOS 2.0 was started with the developer beta which was first released in December 2020 and after three developers’ beta updates, the first pubic beta was released in June this year.
HarmonyOS 2.0 for EMUI 10.1 devices
Now, according to new info, the Huawei devices running RMUI 10.1 are now up for the HarmonyOS beta adaption process. Following this, the Nova 5 series phones have become the first to grab the HM OS beta update while running EMUI 10.1.

Huawei released the EMUI 10.1 version with the P40 series device in 2020 with a bunch of features such as MeeTime, Huawei Share, new themes, Multiscreen collaboration, Celia, and more. Now, the smartphones and tablets running this version will soon upgrade to the new one soon.

Huawei launched HarmonyOS 2.0 on June 02 and without any delay, the company has also begun the beta starting with the beta testing for its 18 topmost devices. However, the beta testing was just limited to the Chinese market and the global schedule is yet to be officially announced.
The Chinese OEM aims to achieve big with its new HM OS and it is also claimed that this new OS is a good chance for Huawei to make its come back after a decline caused by the US sanctions. Huawei has also opened the HM OS for other third parties to expand its reach.
The new HM OS offers a seamless experience, smooth performance and it is even more secure than before with its Collaborative Security feature. This new OS comes with features such as a new home screen, service widgets, control panel, smart folder, and more.
