Huawei introduced its own operating system called the HarmonyOS which is a micro-kernel-based operating system. It is aimed to provide a cross-platform user experience across different platforms including smart automobiles.
The Chinese OEM is also increasing the number of applications for the HarmonyOS in-car software ecosystem. And we have also seen the work in the already launched ArcFox Alpha S series, Huawei SERES Smart Selection SF5 model, and GAC Trumpchi smart vehicles.

As per the latest info, a new report from the CITIC Securities Research, Huawei has made a good amount of contribution to the automobile operating system making it more capable than before.
Compared to the other car operating systems like QX and Android, Huawei’s HarmonyOS is ahead with its safety measurements, and also received ASIL-D certification in the industry and redefining the Vehicle OS with new standards.
The president of Smart Car solution, BU Wang Jun is also aiming to make a completely driverless car by 2025. It is expected to be based on advanced HarmonyOS with features like smart space, multiple application support, and an extraordinary smart car solution. Read more
