Huawei Mate 10 starts getting HarmonyOS 2 beta

Huawei Mate 10 users have started their journey to HarmonyOS 2 with the beta update. According to the latest info, this old flagship is now getting HarmonyOS 2 update for which’s quite surprising for the Mate 10 users, as they will be getting brand new software after a long time.

The Mate 10 smartphones were launched pre-packed with EMUI 8.0 and are currently have EMUI 10.0 as the latest. After skipping the EMUI 11 last year, these phone users are lucky enough for getting brand new HarmonyOS 2.0.

Huawei unveiled the new HarmonyOS 2.0 on June 02, and soon after the announcement the company also kept its aim of upgrading 100 devices to the new OS. The official roadmap suggests that the Mate 10 devices were supposed to get the upgrade in the first half of 2022, but the company seems eager than users.

However, the beta program is limited to China and the global users still await this new HM OS, while we still wait for the official confirmation from the company itself. These Mate 10 devices are currently up for beta testing:

  • Huawei Mate 10
  • Huawei Mate 10 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design

The select Mate 10 users will be able to test the new HarmonyOS software ahead of the stable rollout. To fully optimize the software with these devices, the company will roll out several betas builds via OTA.
