Huawei Nova 5 (HarmonyOS 2 beta) new software update brings optimizations

A new software update rolling out for the Huawei Nova 5 series devices running HarmonyOS 2.0 beta brings several optimizations for a better user experience. It carries HarmonyOS 2.0 beta version 2.0.0.145 upgraded from 2.0.0.135.

To be mentioned, this update is currently rolling out in China and is soon expected to expand to other regions as well. Besides any major change, this update is just limited to some optimizations, as the changelog mentions.

The firmware adds support for the FreeBuds Pro in the Super Device functionality. Further, it also optimizes the Celia voice assistant and some applications to provide a better user experience. These are the Nova 5 devices getting a new update:

  • Huawei Nova 5
  • Huawei Nova 5z
  • Huawei Nova 5i Pro

  • Apps: Optimizes some applications.

HarmonyOS 2 progress

Huawei wishes to run its self-developed HarmonyOS 2.0 on as many devices by the end of this year. The company has previously set the goal to upgrade over 300 devices to this latest software. Further, the Chinese OEM has updated its previous goal to 360 million, looking at the rollout speed.

The new HarmonyOS 2.0 update comes with several features and functionalities such as a new home screen, lock screen, service widgets, Super Device, and much more.
