Huawei P20 users are started to receive new software update in the global market. This latest software update installing the EMUI 10 July 2021 security patch of version 10.0.0.192. The rollout market covers Europe while the other market will join soon.
Consisting of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the series is eligible to receive HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system upgrades in China. However, Huawei has not confirmed any such treatment for global users. But looking at the company’s upgrade plan this smartphone is expected to be on the list.

Coming back to the security update, it fixes several security threats including 21 high and 28 medium levels of CVEs in the P20 device. Besides, this same security update has been released for the Huawei P40 Lite smartphone last week for global consumers.

You can download this latest security update from Huawei P20 Settings. Just follow the below-mentioned procedure.
- Open system settings
- Go to System & updates
- Now select Check for updates
- If an update is available, you can click Download and Install
- Wait for the process to complete
- Restart your device
This security update won’t erase your data but you need to backup your important data for general precautions. Moving ahead, keep a sufficient battery backup on your device to prevent battery outage during the installation.
Furthermore, don’t disturb the installation process in between and make sure a strong inter connection. Because it may take some time to process the update and install it on the smartphone.

Huawei P20 consists of two modes- P20 and P20 Pro that were initially launched with EMUI 8.1 in 2018. Now, this smartphone is running on Android 10 based EMUI 10 with continuous security updates.
