Huawei sending latest system optimizations for Huawei Mate 20 users

Huawei has started to send the latest system optimizations for Huawei Mate 20 users in China. This older flagship series is getting enhanced capabilities in the user interface to open up a new experience.

According to the information, HarmonyOS 2.0.0.209 update that was released for Huawei Mate 20 lineup contains an upgrade package size of 0.95GB. In addition, the company had released two software packages for the below-mentioned models of Mate 20.

Huawei Mate 20 HarmonyOS

This latest update is downloadable via smartphone Settings. To do this, open system settings, visit System & updates, thereafter, the users will have to push “Check for updates” followed by the corresponding update check. If an update is available, you can click “Download and Install”.

Huawei Mate 20: New System Optimizations

As mentioned before, the Huawei Mate 20 users will be receiving two installation packages with different changelog. Furthermore, it’s recommended to download both packages to experience a steady device performance. Below you can check both of these changelogs:

Software package 1

Service Center: Adds Service combos to the Discover tab in Service Center (which you can access by swiping up from the bottom corner edges of the screen), allowing you to add service combos to the home screen to use scenario-specific widgets.
Task Center: Adds the multi-device task management feature to Task Center, allowing you to view, manage, and transfer previous tasks from other devices that support Task Center, are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and are logged in to the same HUAWEI ID. You can access Task Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding it.
Service Widgets: Adds the people album service widget (you can add it to your home screen by swiping up on the Gallery app icon) which loops photos of the person you select. Touch the avatar in the top corner to switch to another person, or touch a photo to open the album of the selected person.
Input methods: Adds a shortcut icon that you can touch to download and use Celia Keyboard directly.
AI Voice: Optimizes the Al Voice feature.
System: Improves the user experience with basic operations, including touch and volume control, and adds support for enlarging home screen icons. Optimizes the system power consumption in certain situations.

Software package 2:

This update optimizes the user interface of the geographic location icon in the top status bar in some situations.

Things to be Remember:

This is a staged rollout, it may be possible that you haven’t received it yet
Install the update as soon it reaches your device.
Don’t disturb the update installation process and use a storage WiFi network.
Don’t forget to restart your device once the installation process is complete.
The user data will be safe during the update process but an advance backup is recommended.
