Huawei has published HarmonyOS September 2021 security update details and also started to roll out the update simultaneously. The latest patches applied to the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, fix different kinds of vulnerabilities and saves your devices from common threats.

Meanwhile, HarmonyOS continues to expand its appearance among Chinese smartphones. As announced on September 23, He Gang – President of Huawei Consumer Product Line confirmed that Huawei has successfully installed HarmonyOS 2.0 in over 120 million devices.

HarmonyOS September 2021 security patch details:

Note – CVE – CVE, short for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures, is a list of publicly disclosed computer security flaws. When someone refers to a CVE, they mean a security flaw that’s been assigned a CVE ID number.

The latest security patch brings fixes for 4 medium levels of CVE in the framework. 25 medium levels of High, Medium, and Low CVEs were found and fixed in HarmonyOS 2.0 kernel. A total of  1 high and 12 medium to low-level CVEs are fixed in the system.

Furthermore, the app section brings fixes for 2 high and 23 medium levels of CVEs in the HarmonyOS 2.0. The third-party library gets fixes for 3 critical, 21 high level, and 3 medium levels of CVEs.

If the security patch level of your Huawei phone or tablet is 2021-09-01 or later, all issues described in this update and the HarmonyOS Security Details – September 2021 have been resolved.

Current Status:

Huawei has already started send the September 2021 HarmonyOS update for various devices by the start of this month. However, more and more devices continue to receive this new patch as the upgrades forward for the Huawei operating system.
