Huntkey released gallium nitride charger, with a maximum power of 65W
On April 1st, the power supply maker Huntkey released its first gallium nitride charger with a maximum power of 65W, a USB-A, and a Type-C interface, suitable for fast charging of notebooks, mobile phones, and other products.
This charger utilizes a simple cube shape, the plug is fixed and cannot be folded. Officials said that due to the use of GaN gallium nitride chips, the power density of the charger can reach 1.02W/cm³ that is more than half smaller than the Apple 61W PD charger.
In terms of specifications, this charger supports fast charging protocols such as PD 3.0, PPS, QC3.0, SCP, Huawei FCP, and the maximum output of USB-A is 9V 3A, and the maximum output of Type-C port is 20V 3.25A. When dual ports output at the same time, the power of the Type-C port is 45W, and the output power of the USB-A port is 18W.
Officials stated that when charging the iPhone 12, this charger can be charged to 50% in 30 minutes, when charging the Macbook Pro 13, it can be charged in 1.5 hours.
Huntkey’s 65W charger has internal features like overvoltage protection, temperature protection, and overcurrent protection. Gallium nitride technology reduces product heat generation. The product weighs 120g and is currently on sale on Tmall at a value of 149 yuan (22.67 USD).
