iOS 14: New Compact Calls
Earlier the incoming calls on your iPhone would take up your entire screen. With iOS 14, Apple introduced a new compact call feature which will not take your entire screen. Incoming calls, including FaceTime calls and calls from supported third-party apps, will appear in an all‑new compact design that doesn’t take up the full screen.
The feature comes as default with iOS 14 on your iPhone, so you don’t have to make changes in settings to implement it. Here’s a guide to answer or decline the compact calls.
To answer calls Do one of the following:
- Tap the green phone icon.
- If the iPhone is locked, drag the slider.
- On your EarPods, press the center button.
Tip: You can also have the iPhone announce all incoming calls or only calls you receive while you’re using headphones or Bluetooth in your car. To do so:
- Go to Settings
- Phone
- Announce Calls.
To decline a call Do one of the following:
- Press the side button or Sleep/Wake button (depending on your model) twice quickly.
- Tap the red phone button.
- Swipe up on the call banner
