Key Points:
- Apple skips iOS 18 to release iOS 18.1 beta.
- The new beta focuses on Apple Intelligence and AI features.
- Apple Intelligence is currently limited to US users with specific devices.
Apple has taken an unexpected turn by launching the first developer beta for iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. This is surprising because the final version of iOS 18 isn’t even out yet. This new software update is all about Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new AI technology.
While this is exciting news, there’s a catch. Apple Intelligence is only available on iPads with the powerful M1 chip or newer, and it’s currently unavailable in the European Union and China. So, even if you install the beta, you won’t be able to use the new AI features unless you meet these requirements.
If you live in the US and have a compatible iPad, you can join a waitlist in your device settings to try out Apple Intelligence. But remember, your device language, Siri language, and region must be set to the US for this to work.
