iPhone 16 Leak: A sneak peek and Apple’s revenue surge to $400B in 2024

Top 3 Key Points:

  1. iPhone 16 Leak: Video reveals new design features, including vertical cameras for Spatial Video.
  2. September 9 Launch: Apple set to unveil the iPhone 16 series, expected to maintain current pricing.
  3. Revenue Milestone: Apple is projected to hit $400 billion in revenue, driven by hardware growth and Apple Intelligence.

The iPhone 16 is almost here, with Apple set to announce it in just a few weeks. As the launch date approaches, leaks and rumors are intensifying. One of the most intriguing leaks is a video showing the iPhone 16 in its sleek black design, even being showcased on a rainy day.

This video was shared by a well-known leaker, Majin Bu, who discovered it on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The video reveals the iPhone 16 looking much like the previous leaks have suggested. Interestingly, it’s being shown off in the rain, but this isn’t particularly surprising since iPhones have been water-resistant since the iPhone 7.

One noticeable change is the new vertical alignment of the dual cameras on the back. This redesign isn’t just to make the phone stand out but is intended to enhance the recording of Spatial Video, which can be viewed using Apple’s Vision Pro. The vertical camera setup allows both lenses to work simultaneously, offering a better experience for capturing this immersive content.

iPhone 16 Launch Set for September 9

Apple recently announced its “It’s Glowtime” event, scheduled for September 9, where the iPhone 16 series will officially be revealed. The pricing is expected to remain consistent with the previous models, starting at $799 for the base iPhone 16, up to $1,199 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

This year’s models will likely see a boost in performance, with all versions rumored to include at least 8GB of RAM, up from the current 6GB in non-Pro models. This upgrade is driven by Apple’s new AI suite, Apple Intelligence, which was introduced at WWDC. Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the latest Pro models and the upcoming iPhone 16 series.

Apple’s Revenue Set to Reach $400 Billion

According to a new market intelligence report by Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 16 launch is expected to propel Apple’s revenue to a record-breaking $400 billion in 2024. This growth is predicted to reverse the decline seen in 2023, with all key hardware segments, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, and AirPods, contributing to this surge.

Despite the growing importance of Apple’s services revenue, hardware sales still account for 75% of the company’s income. Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint, highlighted that while Apple Intelligence is set to drive the growth of services, hardware remains crucial for revenue expansion.

With the iPhone 16 likely to be in high demand, especially given its ability to support Apple Intelligence features, 2024 is shaping up to be a big year for Apple.
