Key Points:
- New iPhone 16 Pro colors: White, Black, and Natural Titanium.
- Vertical camera layout for better 3D shooting.
- Larger screens and powerful A18 Pro chip.
Recently, we showed you some dummy units of the iPhone 16 base model shared by known leaker Sonny Dickson. These units revealed four possible colors for the non-Pro models: Blue, Yellow, Pink, Green, and Black. They also showcased a new vertical camera layout, moving away from the diagonal setup seen since the iPhone 13. This change, similar to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, places the flash to the right of the two rear cameras.
In the past, the flash shared the camera bump with the lenses. Now, it is flush with the rear panel, off to the right. This new layout allows for better 3D image and video capture when viewed on the Vision Pro spatial computer. Otherwise, images will appear in 2D.
Sonny Dickson has now tweeted about the expected color options for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: White Titanium, Black Titanium, and Natural Titanium. Notably, an earlier prediction by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested a Rose Titanium option, which is not reflected in Dickson’s samples.
The iPhone 15 Pro series did not feature a Gold color option for the first time since the 2018 iPhone XS line. Some speculate that the Rose color could be a titanium version of gold. This year, the iPhone 16 Pro models will have larger screens. The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch OLED panel, up from 6.1 inches, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch OLED screen, up from 6.7 inches.
Both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be powered by the 3nm A18 Pro chip and are expected to feature a Tetraprism zoom periscope lens offering 5x optical zoom. Unlike the base models, the Pro models will keep their camera layout unchanged.
Apple is anticipated to announce the four new iPhone 16 models in early September, with a release later that month.
