It’s time OxygenOS 14 should bring battery widget

Posted on

OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS 13.1 for global smartphones but there is a feature that we want the company to bring the OxygenOS 14 upgrade and it is the Battery Widget.

Currently, OnePlus serves a handful of widgets in the Android 13-based OxygenOS versions. However, the tech maker has not introduced the battery widget so far, which should make its debut with OxygenOS 14 upgrade. This is a unique capability that we are still missing in the OxygenOS universe.

Redesigned Smart Widgets

With OxygenOS 13, the Chinese OEM showed a handful of new and interesting widgets for OnePlus fans. One can efficiently track steps, note events, view photos, notes, weather, and time, and can add a variety of other system-related app widgets on the home screen.

Despite numerous enhancements, OxygenOS 13 didn’t make a huge favorable space in users’ hearts due to the lack of a small, dedicated widget for the battery. Thereafter, the tech giant showed up 13.1 version, but the absence of the battery widget continued.

Samsung

Meanwhile, OnePlus’s rival Samsung is leading this segment. The South Korean phone maker launched the battery status option with the One UI 5.1 upgrade. Unlike OnePlus, Samsung made its x.1 version an impressive and most important software rollout for its devices.

Speaking of the feature, the battery status option provides two sizes including circles and lists. Both of them use indicators and percentages to reveal the current battery levels. On the flip side, it has low battery indication color.

OxygenOS 14 will bring a battery widget?

Yes! It’s time that we could anticipate the battery widget with OxygenOS 14. A major reason is that the stock Android will also count as a useful feature in Android 14. Since OxygenOS is mainly based on Android, we could expect the functionality with the upcoming major upgrade for OnePlus devices.
