LG Uplus is leading the charge, with plans to launch a service called “ixi O” in the second half of the year. This service will use a sophisticated AI model named Ixi-Gen, which has been trained on communication data. Ixi-Gen is based on Exaone, a large language model developed by the LG AI Research Institute.
Apple is already working on its call recording feature, which is expected to be included in a future iOS update. However, this feature will have limited impact because it requires the consent of the person on the other end of the call.
SK Telecom was the first to introduce an AI call recording service last year, named A., which has already gained around 4.6 million users as of June. KT is also considering launching a similar service, though specific plans have not yet been announced.
