Krafton, the company behind the popular game PUBG, has hired former executives from Apple, Samsung, and Epic Games to boost its growth. The goal is to speed up expansion outside South Korea, with a particular focus on the Indian market, which shows immense potential.

Key Hires to Boost Strategy and Operations

Krafton recently brought on Richard Yoon, who previously led Apple’s worldwide health business, as the head of strategy and global operations. Additionally, Thomas Ko, known for his role in expanding Samsung Pay globally, was appointed in May as the head of Krafton’s publishing platform.

Strengthening Global Presence with Expert Leadership

The company also appointed Jin Oh, the former president of Riot Games, recognized for League of Legends, as the chief global publishing officer. Oh was also the managing director at Blizzard Entertainment, a company renowned for iconic games like Diablo.

Strategic Moves for Global Competitiveness

According to a Krafton official, these appointments aim to “strengthen the competitiveness of overseas businesses through discovering intellectual property and expanding our publishing businesses.” Jin Oh’s addition is part of a broader strategy to attract top global IT talent and become a leading game publisher, particularly in India.
