My latest survey indicates that 2H23 new iPhone will abandon Lightning port and switch to USB-C port. USB-C could improve iPhone's transfer and charging speed in hardware designs, but the final spec details still depend on iOS support.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) May 11, 2022
If this is true, then Apple consumers will definitely find improvements in the transfer as well as charging speed of the device. Up to this point, Apple iPhone has only flourished with the lightning port. For some reason, the company never brought the updated connectors to its handsets. But now, it seems like the change is near.
Meanwhile, rumors in the air also depict that the company could shift to portless iPhones. Yes, a mechanism where users would be able to charge their handsets and transfer the data wirelessly to another device. Things are not clear at the moment, but time will raise the curtain from this mist.
