A new leak claims that the HomePod Mini and new Apple TV will act as Ultra-Wideband base stations that work with U1 devices. It means that both the devices will precisely track your location as you walk inside your house, to perform several Home Kit actions or even AR.

According to leaker Jon Prosser, the tracking will enable HomeKit to perform several tasks such as turn off lights, volume control, lock doors, and more. This new feature will also make you alert if your devices have been moved while you are away from home using Find My app.

Possibly, among the two devices, the HomePod Mini will be launched at the event on October 13. The actual launch date for the new Apple TV is not yet confirmed. Prosser also says that the devices will have these features whether they are unveiled at the event or not. The HomePod Mini could come with a starting price of $99.
The Apple event is scheduled for October 13 at 10 am PDT. The event will go live on the official website of the company as well as its youtube channel. Other than these two platforms the event can also be watched on the Apple TV.
