Meta’s board of oversight open to discuss content moderation with Twitter

According to the latest report, the independent oversight committee of Facebook’s parent company Meta Platform said it would “welcome the opportunity” to discuss with Twitter more detail the content moderation plan.

Moreover, the oversight board noted that independent oversight of content moderation plays a vital role in building trust in the platform and ensuring users are treated fairly.

In April this year, Musk proposed to acquire Twitter at a price of $54.20 per share. On October 28, Musk completed a transaction to take Twitter private for $44 billion.

On the same day, Musk said the company would form a content moderation committee with a “wide range of diverse viewpoints. ” However, Musk later stated that “we have not made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policy.”
