Musk plans to relaunch short-video app Vine
According to the report, Elon Musk has asked Twitter engineers to start developing a new version of the short video application Vine, which may be launched before the end of the year. Musk tweeted a poll yesterday asking if he should “bring Vine back,” and 69.5% of the 4 million people who voted agreed.

Twitter acquired the short video application Vine as early as 2012, allowing users to shoot and share short six-second video clips. Vine was very popular at that time, and it was also before the popular short video application TikTok appeared. The app was gradually abandoned by users, and Twitter eventually shut it down in 2016.
The relaunched version of Vine could compete with TikTok, and Twitter’s engineers were reportedly told to check out Vine’s codebase, which hasn’t changed since the app was shut down. One source said it “requires a lot of work”.
Musk completed the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter on Friday, serving as CEO himself and firing several Twitter executives, including former CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned -Segal, and policy chief Vijaya Gard, among others, Musk is now the sole director of Twitter.
