The latest update, version STTL.240508.005, replaces the previous STTE.240315.002 version. This update enhances the Android security patch to June 2024, up from April 2024. While the detailed changelog hasn’t been updated yet, the update focuses on minor bug fixes and performance improvements.

Today’s update is relatively small at 71.94 MB. This is the fifth update for Chromecast with Google TV in the last eight months, including updates in February, March, April, May, and now August. This pace exceeds last year’s update schedule, which saw updates in January, April, May, July, October, and December.
