New EU law to force phone makers to adopt replaceable battery
Android or iOS, almost every smartphone comes on the ground with a non-removable battery. Though this fact is going to be changed soon. According to the latest inputs, the new law of the EU may force tech makers to bring back the replaceable battery on their devices.
Yes! EU Parliament is working on a significant law that will return to the era of the replaceable battery. The European Parliament voted to mark an end to the glued batteries. Eventually, this new regulation will pressurize brands to make such devices that can let users replace batteries easily.
With his implementation, the European Union aims to make batteries more sustainable and reusable for consumers. On the flip side, users will be able to opt for DIY (Do It Yourself) repairs instead of costly battery services and maintenance facilities.
Apart from this segment, the new law also prohibits manufacturers to sell those devices that often require a specific tool or some kind of process to open the phone and access the battery. The overall implementation will take time to get into action. Perhaps, we can only expect a change by 2027.
This shift will not only impact phone selling inside the European boundaries but also across the globe. Further, this will improve the older battery collection and will raise the portable battery amount from 45 to 73 percent by 2030.

EU has been planning this regulation for a long time. But as of now, things are taking shape in this matter. It would be worth seeing how tech giants like Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi will leave the track of glued batteries and make some changes in their handsets.
