New Google Camera 8.0 brings new zoom slider for quick access, video stabilization, and other camera modes [Download Now]
Google Camera is the stock camera app for Google Pixel phones like Pixel 5 and 4a 5G. It has official support for advanced features like Astrophotography and some others.
Recently, Google Camera 8.0 comes with a new way to access full zoom controls outside of preset increments.
The latest version of the GCam 8.0 introduced different ways to zoom the camera to 8.0 and 8.1 on the Pixels. By pressing .6/1/2X will opens the full slider and allows you to drag in specific increments.
The bar stays on the screen for a few seconds so users do not have to put their fingers on the screen. In fact, the initial drag is much slower than all following adjustments. After you complete the setup, the “2x” preset will change to any increment you land on, while you can zoom out quickly.

With version 8.0 comes the new method as Google removes the double-tap capability to zoom in/out. The same way to bring up the slider faster.
This zoom feature in Google Camera is slightly hidden because most pixel users do not like it. At the same time, there is some difficulty with how the slider looks.
