Nvidia and Mediatek reached a partnership to utilize RTX 30 GPU for mobile processor
NVIDIA declared a major event-the reopening of GPU licensing, allowing the technology of GeForce graphics cards to be used on mobile phone processors.
NVIDIA did not mention that customers will use their GPU licenses. However, at the GTC 2021 conference yesterday, NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun declared a cooperation agreement with MediaTek.
Mentioning that the two parties will cooperate to create for Chrome OS and Reference system and SDK for Linux PC. MediaTek will utilize the same technology of RTX 30 series graphics cards in its MT819X series of mobile processors.
The architecture is derived from 8nm Ampere. Although the official qualitative point is still PC products, NVIDIA’s GPU will also be upgraded to 5nm and more advanced technology in the future.
It is not surprising that NVIDIA GPU cores will appear on mobile phones and tablet processors in the future. In the mobile processor market, Samsung earlier reached a cooperation agreement with AMD to use the RDNA architecture for its own Exynos processors.
At present, Exynos 2200 processors have appeared in the test, and the GPU performance is 2 times ahead of Apple’s A14.
