One UI 6 allows users to pick which apps to update when upgrading to new Android versions

Posted on

One UI 6 offers a number of great features and optimizations, which could take the user’s experience to a new level. Therefore, one of the most prominent elements of One UI 6 is the ability to offer Galaxy device owners an option to pick apps, which they want to update when upgrading to new Android versions.

As of now, installing the new Android or One UI version automatically upgrades the stock apps to the new version, but with One UI 6, things are going to change to an extent. Because the latest version of One UI based on the Android 14 operating system gives users enhanced control over app updates.

Samsung has made some modifications in the software installation section and added a new “Choose apps to update” option. This allows users to mark apps that will get updated alongside the phone’s software update and deselect the one, in which they don’t want to spend their data and time.

Overall, the Android 14-based One UI 6 software allows users to choose whether to update specific apps alongside Android/One UI software updates. Users can now pick and choose which system apps get updated when installing a new software update on their Galaxy device, to speed up the installation process.

However, the application that you choose not to upgrade with the Android/One UI version could be installed manually through the Galaxy Store or Play Store.
