At the Screen Technology event in Shenzhen, China, OnePlus has introduced Quad HD+ OLED ‘Fluid Display’ with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit HDR. It also features a built-in MEMC motion compensation chip.
OnePlus is expected to bring the latest 120Hz AMOLED screen in the OnePlus 8 Pro, coming in a few months. We have to wait to know more details.
OnePlust has 77% of the domestic sales of 90Hz refresh rate smartphones online. The company said that each screen is calibrated at the factory for accurate colors with RGB color temperature sensor with <0.8 Just Noticeable Color Difference (JNCD) rating.
It offers 4096-level (Compared to 1024 in normal phones) automatic brightness adjustment, highest in Android. Additionally, you can adjust it according to ambient light, offers multi-scene auto-dimming, screen color temperature dimming and more.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said:
“We believe that the smoothest smartphone display must also be able to deliver a superior visual quality and viewing comfort. We’re sure that OnePlus’s new 120Hz Fluid Display will be the best you’ll lay eyes on in 2020.”
Samsung Display is reportedly the screen supplier for the 120Hz display of the OnePlus. Samsung is also expected to bring its own 120Hz displays with the Galaxy S20 series.
