OnePlus Nord 2T deserves new security patch, if not OxygenOS 13.1

Posted on

June 2023 is about to wrap up and OnePlus Nord 2T users are still waiting for OxygenOS 13.1. If not major, the devices deserve at least a new security patch with better improvements and optimizations. Consequently, the criteria apply to other members of the Nord family too.

No doubt, OnePlus is making efforts in rolling out monthly updates on time. In the current scenario, the tech giant has blessed its top-end models with not only the major Android 13-based firmware but with June 2023 patches as well. However, the case is just the opposite for the Nord devices.

OxygenOS 13.1 rollout began in mid-April. Without any delay, the company released the dynamic version for every flagship handset. Meanwhile, OnePlus 11 joined the Android 14 beta pool and started testing the upcoming major software upgrade.

Though things remain stagnant for the Nord models. Up to this point, only the Nord CE 3 Lite and the N20 SE smartphones have received the 13.1 version. Whereas, the other effective models are far away from the latest bunch of features and improvements.

It is worth mentioning that there was a time when Nord 2T used to be the first to get the new security patch. Yet, the current month has only extended the wait for the corresponding phone holders.

Why so late?

A major reason behind OxygenOS 13.1 update delay could be internal changes. In recent times, we heard several users reporting battery, network, and performance-related issues after installing the newly released update. Perhaps, the company might be working on fixing these flaws so that they may not reach other models.

Though it would be better if the company take this action at the earliest. And if not OxygenOS 13.1, OnePlus should push off the June 2023 patch for the Nord 2T devices with enhancements for the camera and overall functioning. Let’s see how much more time, the manufacturer will take to bless its Nord phones with new OxygenOS versions.
