Should OnePlus extend major Android (OxygenOS) update cycle for Nord devices?

We’re moving towards OxygenOS 14 and the 13.1 build is already rolling out in the air. However, we want to point out some phones that deserve better treatment as they are among the top options in the market. That raises the question of whether OnePlus should extend the major Android (OxygenOS) update cycle for Nord devices.

OnePlus Nord smartphone lineup is not only affordable but comes with excellent features on the ground. The company has imposed several eye-catching abilities to these handsets, that are often found missing from the high-end models as well. Though the only department where these models lack is the software support.

Phones like Nord 2T, Nord CE 2 Lite, and Nord CE 2 are some of the best handsets in the OnePlus family. From the camera functionalities to the overall simplified look, these devices scored good grades in every subject. Yet, they are not eligible to grab the upcoming major Android OS.

We are aware of the fact that Nord devices support 2 years of major OS and 3 years of security updates. Meanwhile, the Nord N series gets 1 big OS update with 3 years of security updates. Yet, some of these require more attention than the ordinary ones.

Besides, OnePlus has initiated 3 years of major Android (OxygenOS) and 4 years of security update cycle for Nord 3 devices. While the newly launched handsets showed us the light of hope, users believe that the company should offer such treatments to old members as well.
