OxygenOS 13.1 update is available for several OnePlus phones and the tech giant is continuously expanding the enhancements to more devices. Ahead of the major Android 14 update, the OxygenOS 13.1 feels like an appetizer, but I hope the OnePlus OxygenOS 14 would be great!
For the first time, the manufacturer has completely focused on the very important segment of a device – performance. It merged various features that have not only boosted the device’s functioning but also breathe new life into the gaming experience.
On the flip side, the company has worked on the connectivity aspects and made it more efficient for users. Additions like Auto-connect and multi-screen mode have enriched the way how you link devices without getting interruptions in tasks. To sum up, OxygenOS 13.1 seems to be a supplement to the original 13th build.
OnePlus OxygenOS 14 would be great
We have already shared users’ wishlist for OxygenOS 14 features, which has some of the most demanded and necessary stuff. Though OxygenOS 13 consists of many interesting functionalities. Yet, the lack of innovation and certain major changes hurts.
OnePlus still counts among the top vendors when it comes to providing a stock Android experience. Over the past few years, the company lost its value due to the OPPO merger, which has ultimately disappointed its fans a lot and helped the company’s rivals to grow further.
No doubt, OxygenOS 14 will uproot Android 14. Hence, we will surely find iconic tweaks and features of the base Android in the new OxygenOS version. But, it would be better if the company adopt all the prominent additions without skipping any of them.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer needs to focus on two major parts – software rollout and battery optimizations. Even the newly launched smartphone – OnePlus Nord 3 is showing great power consumption. On the other hand, we are still away from the 13.1 rollout plan for eligible Nord handsets.

So overall, OxygenOS 13.1 features and optimizations are worth praising. However, it would be better if OnePlus do some homework before jumping on the next version to make it even better. By that time, you can drop your wishlist feature for OxygenOS 14 in the comment section.
