OnePlus removed OxygenOS 12 rollback link due to serious issues for OnePlus 8 series users

A few days ago, OnePlus rolled out the Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 beta update for the OnePlus 8 series users. This brings 5G support for Airtel, along with a number of new features, but if you downloaded the update on your OnePlus 8 series phone, then you are not able to rollback over to OxygenOS 12,  due to some serious issues.

Yes! It is recently noted that the company removed the rollback link of the OnePlus 8 series, from the official community. So that users can now downgrade from OxygenOS 12. Also, the official comment is that if users try to downgrade from Android 13, they may start facing some serious issues.

It seems that some users may encounter devices being bricked after downloading form OxygenOS 13 to OxygenOS 12, so the link to the build was removed after discussion.

We want you to know that we have synchronized this problem with the dev team and we will let you know when there is solution as soon as we get the message.

Meanwhile, some of the OnePlus 8 users are stuck with serious bricked issues after the rollback to OxygenOS 12, and for your concern and device security purposes, OnePlus removed the link from the community.

However, this step also shows the company’s awareness and users’ care. And OnePlus actively removed the link and inform the users on time, so that they can not move toward the rollback.
