OxygenOS 14 might let you switch phone calls between OnePlus devices
OxygenOS 14 will bring several features to surf on your OnePlus phones, and one of them could be the switch phone calls ability. Yes! The company might allow you to transfer phone calls from one device to another with its upcoming Android 14-based software upgrade.
According to the famous Android analyst @MishaalRahman, a new SYSTEM_CALL_STREAMING code has been spotted in the next operating system. Eventually, the strings in the code confirm that this addition can seamlessly sync phone calls across Android devices.
Expanding on the details, Mishaal noted that following the Android 14 developer preview 1 release, Google has published documentation for the CallControl and StreamingCall APIs. Thus, we could assume this interesting tweak in the forthcoming Android build.
It’s worth mentioning that the US tech maker already initiated this feature back with Android 12L. A feature named ‘Nearby Calling’ was in consideration to let you transfer calls between your phone and Nest Hub.
Looks like it’s time to bring this feature to reality with Android 14, and thereafter in OxygenOS 14 as well. Eventually, the observer explains the use of the stream voice calls audio feature by giving an example:
“Imagine you get a call on your Pixel, but you are near your Pixel Tablet. Tap the output switcher and select the tablet to begin streaming the phone call to your tablet!”
Since API is present for all Android devices, we can assume that the switch phone calls feature could be available with OnePlus OxygenOS 14 in the time ahead. However, things here are only possible if OnePlus make some extra efforts instead of skipping such features behind.

Android is trying to hold some features from Apple devices. To be specific, Apple allows you to efficiently sync data, calls, and messages across all its devices. Probably, Android is trying to build the same capability on its core structure.
It would be worth seeing whether the ‘sounds interesting’ tool will make its way to the OnePlus devices or if the company will ditch this part just like ‘Per App Language’.
